The Ezekers 500GB Portable USB 3.0 drive offers a lightweight, compact solution for basic storage needs. It connects via USB 3.0 and USB-C, drawing power directly from your device. This makes it ideal for quick backups on PS4 consoles or Android phones. You get 500 GB of space in a small, 2.5-inch form factor that fits easily in a bag. The drive works seamlessly with PC, Mac, and gaming systems without needing an external power adapter. Its low weight and simple interface suit users who prioritize portability over high capacity.
However, you might need more storage, rugged durability, or specific compatibility. Some users prefer larger capacities like 2TB or 5TB for extensive game libraries or media archives. Our top pick: Ezekers 500GB Portable USB 3.0 External Drive.
How alternatives compare to Ezekers
Silicon Power 5TB A62 Rugged Hard Drive
The Silicon Power 5TB A62 offers ten times the storage of the Ezekers drive. You get 5TB of space for games and files, compared to just 500GB. It shares the same USB 3.0 and USB-C interface, ensuring fast transfers. However, it is heavier and bulkier due to the larger capacity. The rugged design provides better protection than the sleek Ezekers casing. If you need more room for PS4 or Xbox libraries, this is the better choice. It sacrifices the ultra-light portability of the Ezekers for substantial storage and durability.
YOTUO 320GB Portable External Hard Drive
The YOTUO 320GB drive has less storage than the Ezekers 500GB model. It weighs 8.82 ounces, which is heavier than the Ezekers at 5.29 ounces. Both use USB 3.0 and USB-C for connectivity. The YOTUO lists a desktop form factor, which may affect how it fits in your bag. It supports the same platforms, including PC, Mac, and consoles. You might choose this if you find a better price, but the Ezekers offers more capacity in a lighter package. The YOTUO is suitable for basic console expansion where space is not a premium.
Silicon Power A80 1TB Rugged External Drive
The Silicon Power A80 doubles the storage capacity to 1TB. It uses USB 3.0 connectivity, similar to the Ezekers, but lacks the USB-C native port. It weighs 10.3 ounces, making it more than twice as heavy as the Ezekers. The rugged armor design offers superior protection for travel or gaming consoles. It works with PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox. You should pick this if you need more storage and durability. The trade-off is the increased weight and the absence of USB-C direct connectivity, which the Ezekers provides.
WD 2TB Elements Portable Hard Drive
The WD 2TB Elements provides four times the storage of the Ezekers drive. It weighs 4.64 ounces, which is slightly lighter than the Ezekers. It uses USB 3.0 for data transfer. The WD drive lacks USB-C connectivity, relying on standard USB-A ports. It is compatible with PC, Mac, and consoles. This model is ideal if you need more space and prefer a lighter weight. You give up the USB-C convenience and the specific compact dimensions of the Ezekers. It is a solid option for basic portable storage needs on various devices.
Silicon Power Armor A30 1TB External Drive
The Silicon Power Armor A30 offers 1TB of storage, double the Ezekers capacity. It is a 2.5-inch drive, matching the Ezekers form factor. It weighs 6.38 ounces, slightly heavier than the Ezekers. It uses USB 3.0 connectivity but does not list USB-C support. The rugged design provides better shock protection than the standard Ezekers casing. It works with PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox. Choose this if you prioritize durability and extra storage. You sacrifice the USB-C compatibility and the lighter weight of the Ezekers for a more robust, higher-capacity solution.
Silicon Power Armor A80 2TB External Hard Drive
The Silicon Power Armor A80 provides 2TB of storage, four times the Ezekers capacity. It weighs 10.3 ounces, making it significantly heavier. It uses USB 3.0 connectivity without USB-C support. The rugged armor design offers better protection for gaming consoles or travel. It is compatible with PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox. This drive is better if you need more space and durability. You give up the compact size and USB-C convenience of the Ezekers. It is a suitable alternative for users who prioritize capacity and physical resilience over portability and modern connectivity options.
