Check Compatibility And Needs
Before you commit to this LaCie Rugged drive, verify your computer’s ports. You need an available Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 connection. The integrated cable wraps around the enclosure, which is convenient but requires careful storage to prevent wear. Since it is a portable HDD, you should handle it with care despite its drop and water resistance claims. Keep it away from extreme magnetic fields and physical impacts. This drive suits photographers or videographers who need quick transfers on the go. It does not replace a NAS for multi-user access or automatic redundancy. You will need to manually back up your data to another location. The included software trial is temporary. Consider your long-term storage needs. If you require shared network access, look at NAS options instead. This unit is for individual, high-speed portable use only.
Check before you buy
- Verify your device has a Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 port.
