Before You Buy ArmorATD
You should verify that your computer has a USB-C port or an available Thunderbolt 3 connection. If your device only offers USB-A, you will need a separate adapter to use this drive. The included cable connects directly to the port, so check your port type first. Keep the drive dry, even though it has an IP54 rating. This rating protects against light rain and dust, not submersion. Store it in a protective case when traveling to maintain its triple-layer shock resistance. This rugged portable drive sits apart from standard NAS units. It lacks network connectivity, so you cannot access files remotely over Wi-Fi. You must connect it physically to a single computer. It suits photographers or field workers who need durable, local storage. It does not replace a network-attached storage system for team access. Choose this if you prioritize physical durability and direct connection over network sharing.
Check before you buy
- Confirm your device has a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port.
- Ensure you have an adapter if your computer only has USB-A.
- Check if you need network access instead of direct computer connection.
- Keep the drive away from heavy water exposure despite IP54 rating.
